Lucenti named in College Swimming Preseason Top 50

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – College Swimming announced Monday the Women’s Preseason Top 50 and Vanderbilt Junior Kara Lucenti made the list in the 200-yard breaststroke. Her school record time of 2:11.60 was good for 46th best in the nation last year. She set the school record at the Bulldog Invitational after breaking the previous record at the SEC Championships the week prior.

Lucenti had a standout sophomore campaign last season capturing numerous podium finishes and as well as setting school records. The Kenilworth, Ill. native set the school record in 400-yard IM (4:19.36) and was a part of the 200-yard medley relay team (1:40.61) that set a school record at the SEC Championships.

This season, Lucenti has picked up a pair of third place finishes in the 200-yard breaststroke and a first place finish in the 200-yard IM through the Commodores first two meets. The `Dores will be back in the pool next Friday, Oct. 14, when they travel to San Diego, Calif. to take on San Diego State and UC San Diego.
