TUSLA, Okla. – Vanderbilt sophomore Ryan Lipman joins the nation’s top collegiate tennis players at the 2010 D’Novo/ITA All-American Championships. Lipman bypassed the pre-qualifying rounds and will begin play Thursday morning in the main draw.
The Nashville native is slated to play Stanford’s Ryan Thacher Thursday at 10 a.m. Should Lipman advance, he will face either Pedro Zerbini of Cal or Akash Muppidi of Boston College at 2 p.m. Lipman stands 3-1 on the season after advancing to the semifinal round of the Southern Intercollegiate Championships.
Thacher advanced to the main draw following three consecutive wins in the qualifying draw. This tournament is the first competition for the junior, who closed out the 2009-10 season with a 26-8 overall record.
