Lipman eliminated from singles play

TULSA, Okla. – Vanderbilt men’s tennis player Ryan Lipman was eliminated from singles play in the qualifying stage of the ITA All-American on Tuesday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Lipman faced off against Minnesota’s Rok Bonin in the second round, but could not gain any momentum as he fell in two sets 6-3, 6-2. The Nashville, Tenn., native finished his second singles tournament of the fall after missing all of last season.

Following the loss, Lipman is now 2-2 in singles play through the first two tournaments of the 2012-13 season.

Lipman will now turn his concentration to doubles action, in which he will be partnered with Gonzales Austin. The duo begins play in the main draw on Thursday, while Austin will also begin singles action.
