Vanderbilt set to compete in mid-season meet

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt women’s swim team will travel to Lynchburg, Virginia, to compete in the TYR ’85 Invite hosted by Liberty University beginning on Friday at the Liberty Natatorium.

This weekend’s matchup will mark the Commodores debut in the TYR ’85 Liberty Invite.

Vanderbilt enters the Invite after a tough loss to in-state rival Tennessee in Knoxville, 198-61.

The Commodores will open the Invite on Friday by competing in the 200-yard freestyle relay, 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard individual medley, 50-yard freestyle and will close with the 400-yard medley relay.

The Dores will be joined by Campbell, Duqesne, James Madison, Marshall. Navy, North Florida and Saint Francis.

Last year in its mid-season meet, Vanderbilt competed in the Phill Hansel Invitational where they placed eighth with multiple student-athletes notching personal best times.

The prelims will begin each day at 9 a.m. CT followed by finals at 6 p.m. Live scoring will be available and admission to the meet is free.
