NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The 14th-ranked Commodore women’s lacrosse team plays host to sixth-ranked Notre Dame on Wednesday, April 18, for a 4 p.m. CT draw at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.

Wednesday’s game will be the final contest in Nashville for five members of the lacrosse team. Seniors Molly Frew, Nicole Pugno, Jennifer Tapscott and Kendall Thrift will all exhaust their eligibility this summer, while redshirt-junior Ali Lemons is expected to forego her senior season after she graduates this May.

The Commodores (9-4) secured no worse than the No. 2 seed in the upcoming American Lacrosse Conference Tournament with a 10-9 win at Ohio State this past weekend. Thrift broke Vanderbilt’s all-time record for career assists in the victory.

The Fighting Irish (11-3) advanced to the NCAA Final Four last season. They defeated BIG EAST rival Georgetown, 13-8, over the weekend.

With only two games remaining on the regular season schedule, a win would give Vanderbilt’s post-season hopes a boost. The Commodores will travel to Cornell on Sunday, April 29, before heading to Baltimore, Md., for the ALC Tournament, which begins on May 3.

Admission is free to Wednesday’s season finale at the VU Lacrosse Complex. Fans that can’t make the trip to Nashville can watch the game live on http://vucommodores.com/.
