NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt women’s lacrosse team will play the first of two Fall Ball tournaments this weekend in Loyola, Md. The Hound Round Robin, hosted by Loyola College, will pit the Commodores against Louisville, George Mason, and Cornell on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 6.
Later this month, Vanderbilt will travel to Fairfax, Va., to take part in the Mason Fall Lacrosse Tournament. The Commodores are scheduled to take on four opponents at the event scheduled for Oct. 20.
Vanderbilt’s collegiate opponents at the Mason Tournament will include Georgetown, William & Mary, and Richmond. The Commodores will also play an exhibition against the national team from Canada.
Other highlights of the Fall Ball schedule include an alumni game on Oct. 12 during homecoming weekend and the team marathon game during the final week of October.
Fresh off their third NCAA tournament appearance in six years, Head Coach Cathy Swezey’s squad looks to continue its tradition of excellence. The Commodores’ recently released 2008 schedule opens on Feb. 17 when newcomer Cincinnati visits Nashville.
