DAY THREE – From the junior class:

What a day! We woke up and played the Irish national team. They were a great group of girls who were very funny and nice. After a full 60 minute game, we celebrated a victory. Afterwards they taught us their form of postgame handshakes, which were very different from ours. They say “hip hip hooray” three times in a row and hit their sticks to the ground. They then gave us their team pins, and the Roman team who we played with yesterday gave us red bracelets with a knife and fork pendant. YUM! It explains our team pretty well–I guess they could tell we loved to eat!

After the game, we went back into town with the Irish team. We saw the Trevi Fountain first, which was absolutely gorgeous! Everyone tossed their two coins into the fountain–one for wishing to come back to Rome and another that is a wish of our choice. After admiring the Trevi Fountain, we went to the Pantheon and ate lots of gelato! (For some girls, they were already on their second of the day…).

We then said goodbye to the Irish team while they were off to the airport and made our way to “field of flowers” which was not actually a real field of flowers! It was a fun cement town square where many people congregated and hung out. There were many nice restaurants where we got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Roman weather. After a few hours of shopping, dinner, and MORE gelato we made our way to the bus to turn in for the night. We’re ready for a fun day in Florence tomorrow after the four hour bus ride.

Ciao!
