NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt lacrosse team has welcomed five new transfers to the program this fall, including two midfielders, one attacker, one defender and one goalie.
“We are thrilled to grow our Vanderbilt Lacrosse family with these five amazing student-athletes,” said head coach Beth Hewitt. “All five players bring a wealth of experience from a variety of outstanding institutions that will help us compete at a championship level.”
Brooke Baker — Midfielder · Redshirt Junior · Raleigh, N.C.
Baker played in four games for North Carolina during the 2023 season. She recorded her first career goal against High Point on March 23 and ended the game with two goals and two draw controls. Baker played three years at Ravenscroft High School and her senior season at William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and was a four-year starter in the midfield.
Elise Bialecki — Defender · Junior · Littleton, Colo.
Bialecki appeared in 14 games (including one start) during her freshman campaign with Pittsburgh and finished the season with nine ground balls, four caused turnovers and a draw control. As a sophomore, Bialecki appeared in all 15 games (all starts) for Pittsburgh and finished with career highs in groundballs (15) and caused turnovers (15). The Colorado native earned all-conference and Les Schwab Academic Team Championship honors in each of her first two seasons at JK Mullen High and was a member of Team Colorado in 2018.
Jaime Biskup — Attacker · Graduate · Manorville, N.Y.
Biskup appeared in 18 games for Virginia during the 2023 season. During her senior campaign, she recorded 36 goals and 10 assists, good for 46 points, including eight hat tricks. In 2022, Biskup scored five goals and added one assist in a 16-13 victory over Notre Dame. After the season, she was named to the IWLCA and ACC Academic Honor Rolls before going on to earn her degree in media studies.
Emily Gaven — Goalie · Graduate · Garden City, N.Y.
In three seasons at Georgetown, Gaven started 50 of the 53 games she appeared in and averaged 6.7 saves per contest. She was named Second Team All-BIG EAST after recording a career-high 142 saves during the 2022 season. The New York native was a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter at Garden City High School, where she served as a captain her senior year and led her team to the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship in 2017. In 2019, Gaven was named to Newsday’s Top 100 High School Girls lacrosse players and All-Nassau County.
Molly Krestinski — Midfielder · Sophomore · Bronxville, N.Y.
Krestinski appeared in 15 games with 11 starts for Colgate during the 2023 season, scoring 18 goals and tallying three assists for 21 points while adding 15 draw controls and 19 ground balls. During her freshman campaign, she had five multi-goal performances.
“Pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees, these new teammates are exceptional individuals and players who will undoubtedly make a positive impact on Vanderbilt both on and off the field,” said associate head coach Jill Doherty, who also serves as the program’s recruiting director.
Along with the five transfers, the Commodores welcomed seven freshmen to the squad for a total of 12 newcomers on the 2024 roster.
