Junior duo loses at ITA All-Americans

TULSA, Okla. – As four of Vanderbilt’s players begin play at the Bulldog Scramble Friday, two others are on their way back to Nashville after being eliminated at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships.

After earning a win in the first round of the main doubles draw on Thursday, Vanderbilt’s 12th-ranked duo of Adam Baker and Alex Zotov were eliminated from competition on Friday as Auburn’s Tim Puetz and Alex Stamchev posted an 8-4 win over the two.

The loss by Baker and Zotov concluded Vanderbilt’s play at the D’Novo/ITA All-American Tennis Championships.

Despite the loss in Tulsa, Vanderbilt still has matches to be played this weekend at the Bulldog Scramble, which runs Friday through Sunday. Competing for Vanderbilt are Vijay Paul, Bryant Salcedo, Alex DiValerio and Charlie Jones.
