NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ten days before Vanderbilt faces Boston College in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl, Commodore Head Coach Bobby Johnson received an early look at LP Field, courtesy of the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans honored Johnson early in the first quarter of their 31-14 victory over Pittsburgh Sunday that clinched home field advantage for the Nashville franchise in the upcoming AFC playoffs.

Johnson received an honorary game ball from Titans’ Executive Vice President of Administration Don MacLachlan in front of a capacity crowd of 69,143 at LP Field. The ceremony recognized Johnson’s recent honor of sharing Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year honors and leading the Commodores into postseason play for the first time in more than 25 years.

“I’m very appreciative that the Titans organization would take the time to recognize the accomplishments of our football team in this way,” Johnson said. “I heard from many well-wishers and I know there were many Vanderbilt fans in attendance cheering for the Titans. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did.”

The Commodores will make their third appearance ever in LP Field on New Year’s Eve when they face Atlantic Coast Conference runnerup Boston College in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl. It will mark Vanderbilt’s first bowl game in 26 years and the fourth in team history.
