NEW YORK, N.Y. – Vanderbilt attacker Jill Doherty was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her performance against Marquette, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon. This is her third BIG EAST Honor Roll appearance and the fifth Commodore to garner BIG EAST honors this season.
In her final game in a Commodore uniform, Doherty led the team with four goals, a career-high eight draw controls along with two caused turnovers, a ground ball and an assist. It was her 12th game this season leading the team in draw controls and sixth leading the team in goals.
She finished the season first in draw controls (74), points (54), ground balls (28), assists (23) and caused turnovers (19). The 74 draw controls is the second most for a single season in school history after Ally Carey totaled 80 back in 2012.
As her career comes to a close, Doherty’s name will be in the Commodore record book. She finished second all-time in assists (84), third in draw controls (163) and seventh in points (175). She is also the first Commodore in school history to lead the team in assists for three-consecutive seasons.
