BALTIMORE, Md. – US Lacrosse announced that former Commodore standout Jess Roguski-Onheiser will be named to the Greater Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame as part of the 2017 class.
Roguski-Onheiser was a four-year letterwinner (2001-04) for the Commodores and started in all 65 games during her career for the ‘Dores. A two-time team captain during her junior and senior seasons, Roguski-Onheiser led the Commodores to their first two appearances in the NCAA Tournament. She ranks in Vanderbilt’s all-time Top 10 in goals, points, caused turnovers and draw controls, but her greatest asset may have been the tremendous leadership that was an integral part of Vanderbilt’s 2004 run to the NCAA Final Four.
She was a two-time All-American Lacrosse Conference selection and earned second team All-America honors from the IWLCA in 2004. Roguski-Onheiser also was recognized on the Southeastern Conference Good Works Team twice during her career for her commitment to community service. She currently stands as one of 11 Commodores to score 100 goals or more during their careers.
Following her Commodore career, she was a member of the 2004-05 U.S. Development team and the 2006-07 U.S. Elite National team. She spent a few years in the coaching ranks as an assistant lacrosse coach at Loyola University and Ohio University. In 2011, Roguski-Onheiser was named to the Vanderbilt Hall of Fame.
The Class of 2017 Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on January 14, 2017 at the Hillendale Country Club in Phoenix, Md.
