Academic Honor Roll | Academic Team Honors

The Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches’ Association (IWLCA) recognized 96 teams and over 400 student-athletes for achieving success in the classroom, by designating Honor Squads and a 2007 Academic Honor Roll.

With a team grade point average of 3.32, Vanderbilt was one of 43 Division I schools to be so recognized. The Commodores earned honor squad distinction for the third straight year, and the fourth time in five seasons.

While excelling in the classroom, the 2007 Commodores also had a banner year on the field. Vanderbilt posted a record-breaking 11-5 regular season record en route to hosting its first postseason game in Nashville.

Twelve schools in Division II and 41 schools in Division III were named honor squads. The University of Albany topped the list of Division I honorees with a team GPA of 3.45.

Individually, 157 Division I student-athletes were named to the Academic Honor Roll, including VU seniors Molly Frew and Kendall Thrift as well as junior Ashley Paschall. Virginia Tech’s Lindsay Pieper was named the 2007 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
