Hull Leads Dores in Terre Haute

Sophomore picks up two wins in two days over the weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Aubrey Hull claimed two events in two days to lead Vanderbilt swimming at this weekend’s tri-meet against Indiana State and Illinois at the Vigo County Aquatic Center.

She finished first in the 200 back on Friday and was the winner of the 100 back on Saturday, and Ellie Butler added a runner-up result in the 200 fly although it was not enough to prevent the Commodores from falling to both the Sycamores and Fighting Illini.

Vanderbilt closes out the fall season with the Phill Hansel Invitational, a three-day competition hosted by Houston that begins on Nov. 19.

-Hull picked up the Dores’ first victory of the meet Friday night in the 200 back.

Notes

-When she returned in the morning to finish first in the 100 back, it was also her team-leading 12th individual victory of her career.
-Hull also now ranks among the top five on the squad in the 50 free after pacing Vandy in the race on Saturday.
-Butler’s 2:05.14 mark in the 200 fly is second-best on the team this fall, coming in her first time swimming the event at the collegiate level.
-This marked the second straight season that Vandy has faced Indiana State and Illinois in a tri-meet after the three competed at the House of ‘Paign Invite in Champaign, Illinois, last October.
