Receiver up for award recognizing players who began career as a walk-on

Hoskins was a multi-sport athlete in high school and a prep All-American in lacrosse. Graduating high school during the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in limited scholarship offers and Hoskins opted to enroll at Division III Middlebury College to play football and lacrosse.

After one year, Hoskins began to pursue options to play football at the highest level and received an offer to transfer to Vanderbilt as a walk-on starting in the fall of 2022.

After appearing in one game as a sophomore, Hoskins played in all 12 contests during his junior season, making six catches for 83 yards and two touchdowns. This season, Hoskins has seven receptions for 77 yards and a score. His touchdown came in a 20-13 win at Kentucky, earning him the Burlsworth’s Walk-On of the Week award.

Off the field, Hoskins is a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection (first-year in 2022, fall in 2023) and a member of Vanderbilt’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He was the team’s nominee for the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team this season.

Hoskins and the 24th-ranked Commodores return to action Saturday when South Carolina visits FirstBank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 3:15 p.m. on SEC Network and 94.9 The Fan.
