6/5/2006 NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Senior women’s lacrosse student-athlete Kate Hickman continues to rack up post-season honors, earning second-team recognition on the 2006 Academic All-District IV Women’s At-Large Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced recently. A four-year letterwinner for the Commodores, Hickman graduated in May with a degree in communication studies. The Severna Park, Md., native carried a 3.71 grade point average. On the court, she led Vanderbilt in points and goals the past two seasons. She finished her Commodore career ranked third all-time in Vanderbilt’s record books in both goals and points. Honorees from CoSIDA’s eight districts will feed into the 2005-06 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America At-Large Teams, which will be announced later this month. The At-Large teams feature sports without their own category, including lacrosse, tennis, gymnastics and numerous others. |
