Commodores to play at Colorado and Denver this weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt continues a three-game road stretch with contests at Colorado on Friday and at Denver on Sunday.

  • First draw for Friday’s game at Colorado is set for 3 p.m. CT with a free live stream available for fans here. Sunday’s game at Denver is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT. Fans can watch live online with a subscription to Pioneers All-Access.
  • Vanderbilt jumped six spots to No. 16 in the ILWomen/IWLCA Top 25 with a win at Elon last Friday. The Commodores also rank No. 16 in the Nike/USA Lacrosse Top 20.
  • Colorado enters the weekend receiving votes in the ILWomen/IWLCA poll. Denver comes in at No. 12 in the rankings.
  • Vanderbilt and Colorado met last season in Nashville with the Commodores winning 11-10 in overtime. Friday will mark the second meeting all-time.
  • The Commodores are 4-5 vs. Denver with the last meeting coming in 2020. Vandy knocked off the then 10th-ranked Pioneers 14-13 in Nashville.
  • Fifth-year seniors Gabby Fornia and Melissa Hawkins are among the nation’s leaders in career totals. Fornia ranks second among active players in assists (134) and assists per game (2.09). Hawkins is second in caused turnovers (110) and fifth in ground balls (124).
  • This season, Fornia leads the American Athletic Conference and is second in the country in assists per game (3.0) and Hawkins leads the AAC and is second in the country in caused turnovers per game (3.33).
  • As a team, Vanderbilt leads the AAC in assists per game, caused turnovers per game, draw controls per game, free position percentage, ground balls per game, points per game, scoring offense, and shot percentage.
