Monica Buff and Griffin also pick up All-Central Region Honors.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Vanderbilt soccer goalkeeper Tyler Griffin wrapped up her collegiate career with first team All-American plaudits by Soccer Buzz, a website devoted to the coverage of collegiate women’s soccer.
Griffin, the most decorated soccer player in school history, finished her career as Vanderbilt’s career shutout leader with 31. She posted a 31-11-10 record with a 0.66 goals against average to go along with 224 saves.
In addition, the Charlotte, N.C., native, picked up first team All-Central Region plaudits. She was a second-team All-SEC pick in 2006 as she recorded eight shutouts and finished second in the SEC with a 0.60 goals against average with 86 saves and a 9-4-7 overall record.
Senior defender Monica Buff, a stalwart in the successful Vanderbilt defense that produced 25 shutouts over the last two years, was a second-team All-Central Region selection by Soccer Buzz as well. She was a first-team All-SEC pick this season and finished her collegiate career as a four-year starter with 67 starts.
