Gold Star Family Pregame Tailgate
Saturday – September 23, 2023 | Vanderbilt Football vs. Kentucky (11 a.m. kickoff)
The tailgate takes place at the outdoor track from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Guests will receive a wristband upon entry into this space via the entrance off Natchez Trace, just north of Children’s Way.
The meal is being provided by Mission BBQ and includes:
- Pulled Pork (Gluten Free)
- Pulled Chicken (GF)
- Maggie’s Mac and Cheese (Vegetarian)
- Green Beans (V)
- Slider Rolls
- Sauces – Memphis Belle, Smoky Mountain, KC Classic, Tupelo Honey Heat (all GF)
Entertainment will be provided by the 101st Airborne Division’s Screaming Eagle rock band from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m
Parking
Parking is provided with a digital parking pass for the West Garage (24th Avenue S and Children’s Way). Parking garages open at 7 a.m.
Directions to Vanderbilt
From the East (Nashville International Airport) – Take I-40 West to the Exit 210B on the left to merge onto I-65 S toward Huntsville. Take Exit 81 toward Wedgewood Avenue. Turn right onto Wedgewood Avenue, continue onto Blakemore Avenue. Turn right onto 24th Avenue S, turn left onto Children’s Way to West Garage.
From the South – Take I-65 North Exit 80 onto I-440 West towards Memphis. Take Exit 3 and turn right on US-431 N. Turn left onto Blair Boulevard. Turn right onto 24th Avenue S. Turn left onto Children’s Way to West Garage.
From the North – Take I-65 South to Exit 209B (The Broadway-West End exit after the I-65S/I-40E merger). Merge onto 14th Avenue N. Turn right onto Broadway. Continue straight onto West End Avenue. Take West End past the main University entrance and turn left on 25th Avenue S. Turn left onto Garland Avenue. Turn right onto 24th Avenue S. Turn right onto Children’s Way to West Garage.
From the West – Take I-40 East to Exit 206 for I-44o E towards Knoxville. Continue on I-440 to Murphy Road in Nashville. Take Exit 1 from I-440 toward US-70S E. Turn left onto Murphy Road. Turn left onto West End Avenue, turn right onto 31st Avenue S which eventually turns into Blakemore Avenue. Turn left onto 24th Avenue S. Turn left onto Children’s Way to West Garage.

Gold Star Families should enter through the Frist Family Gate of FirstBank Stadium. This gate is located near Natchez Trace, Vanderbilt Place, and 28th Avenue.
Clear Bag Policy
FirstBank Stadium has a Clear Bag Policy. Bags must be CLEAR plastic, vinyl, or PVC and not exceed 12″ x 12″ x 6″. This includes clear cinch sacks, clear diaper bags, gallon Ziploc bags, etc.
Non-transparent bags, wallets, and cases must not exceed 4.5″ X 6.5″ even if you are placing it inside your larger clear bag.
• Please Note: Non-transparent bags (4.5″ x 6.5″ or smaller) are still subject to inspection by security personnel at the gates.
Exceptions to the Clear Bag Policy will only be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection by security personnel. Please ask for assistance at the gate.
Guests with non-complying bags can store their items for a nominal fee at a conveniently located bag check location outside of the Stadium.

- Pregame message from Coach Lea on the videoboard
- Names of military members being honored via a scroll on the videoboard
- Starting lineups will include the names of Vanderbilt student-athletes and the military member they are honoring/representing
- Salute to Service recognition in-game, asking service men and women to stand and be recognized
- Flyover crew recognition in the second half
