Getting to know Shelton Mitchell

Freshman point guard Shelton Mitchell, from Waxhaw, N.C., joined the Commodores this summer after spending his senior season at Oak Hill Academy in Virginia and his previous three high school years at Cuthbertson High School in North Carolina.

Mitchell recently sat down and answered a few questions from vucommodores.com about his life on and off the court.

My advice to young people is: Be confident
I chose to attend Vanderbilt over these schools (list other schools that offered you a scholarship): It was best fit. Arizona, UConn, Wake Forest, N.C. State, Oregon, Cal, Missouri.
