Commodores recognized for academic excellence

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt was honored Thursday by the United Soccer Coaches for its performance in the classroom throughout the 2019-20 season, earning the organization’s team academic award.

Garnering the award for the 18th consecutive season, the Commodores tallied a collective 3.28 grade-point average and placed 16th on the SEC Academic Honor Roll with Nia Dorsey also earning Academic All-District honors. Vanderbilt is one of 12 SEC programs to earn the recognition and continues to hold the longest consecutive streak in the conference, earning the honor every year since 2003.

Vanderbilt, ranked 10th in this week’s USC poll, will be back on the field Sunday when it visits Tennessee. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.
