Q: Why did you choose to commit to Vandy?
Haffenreffer: “For me, Vanderbilt was a no-brainer. With the amazing education it provides and a great team environment, I knew it was the place for me the minute I visited. Not to mention being in such an incredible city where there is so much to do!”
Q: What are your academic goals while at Vanderbilt and longterm?
Haffenreffer: “I’m hoping to get as much out of my academics at Vanderbilt as I can by taking interesting classes, challenging myself and continuing to study what I love. As of now I want to major in economics and history!”
Q: What made you decide you wanted to continue lacrosse in college?
Haffenreffer: “I can’t imagine my life without the sport. I’ve played since kindergarten and made some of my best friends through house league, club and high school lacrosse. Even on the days when it feels harder than normal, the people I play with are what keep me on the field. How could I say no to four more years with new best friends playing the sport that I love?”
Q: What would you say your biggest strength as a player is?
Haffenreffer: “My biggest strength is my game IQ. Over the years, I’ve learned to really trust myself and my decisions while playing. I feel like I have a good sense of what needs to happen and when, and that skill definitely came over time.”
Q: What about Nashville are you most excited to explore?
Haffenreffer: “The music! Nashville has live music on basically every corner and I just want to experience as many performers as I can in my time here. I’m always looking for a new concert to go to and Nashville seems to be a hotspot for all my favorite artists, so I know I’m in the right place.”
Q: What are your hobbies outside of lacrosse?
Haffenreffer: “Trying new restaurants, baking, attempting to learn the guitar and listening to music.”
Q: Do you have any hidden talents?
Haffenreffer: “I can unicycle!”
Q: What is a random, fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
Haffenreffer: “I moved across the country, from Connecticut to California, and back when I was younger.”
