NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Danielle Pavinelli posted seven points to power 11th-ranked Florida to a 20-5 win over Vanderbilt in its American Athletic Conference home opener on Saturday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.
Vanderbilt (6-4, 0-2 AAC) started strong with four first-quarter goals, two from Kemper Robinson while Cate Bradley and Molly Krestinski both added one to start the game. However, the Gators went on to score nine unanswered to take a 14-4 lead into the half.
Florida (11-2, 2-0 AAC) would then score six unanswered goals in the second half to earn its ninth 20-goal performance of the season. Liz Harrison recorded a game-high 14 draw controls in the game, while Pavinelli netted five goals and two assists and Ashley Gonzalez contributed three goals and three assists.
The Commodores will travel to take on 17th-ranked Penn State on Wednesday with opening draw slated for noon. The game will be shown on BIGTEN+.
