Sept. 1, 2015

Those traveling to Vanderbilt Stadium Thursday for Vanderbilt’s season opener against Western Kentucky should be aware of increased traffic in the Nashville metropolitan area due to a number of events taking place that evening.
Vanderbilt’s game against Western Kentucky kicks at 7 p.m. CT on SEC Network and will begin at the same time as the Tennessee Titans’ preseason finale against the Vikings and the Nashville Sounds’ home finale against Round Rock. The annual music festival, Live on the Green, begins downtown at 6:15 p.m. Thursday and continues late into the night.
Due to the number of events taking place, coupled with the typical rush-hour traffic for a Thursday night, fans are encouraged to arrive early. Tickets remain available and can be purchased in person at McGugin Center, by calling 615-322-GOLD (4653) or online. The ticket office will be open throughout Thursday, with the stadium ticket booths opening two hours before kickoff.
Parking lots and Vandyville open at 4 p.m. Fans can watch the team arrive on campus by attending Dore Alley Walk through Vandyville at 4:30 p.m.
Star Walk will be at 5:50 p.m. and the annual Anchor Dash, featuring Vanderbilt’s freshmen and transfer students running out of the stadium tunnel, begins at 6:44 p.m.
Calling the game on SEC Network will be Tom Hart (play-by-play), Andre Ware (analyst) and Laura Rutledge (sidelines). Fans can also listen to the game locally on 1510 WLAC, 560/95.9 WNSR and ALT 98.3.
