2022-23 Vanderbilt Basketball Game Day Guide

In advance of the Commodores’ upcoming basketball seasons, Vanderbilt Athletics has announced game day information and activities—both returning from last season and new—for the 2022-23 season.

The men’s basketball team opens the season at home on Nov. 7 vs. Memphis. The women’s basketball team’s home opener is Nov. 10 vs. Samford.


FACILITY INFORMATION

DOORS OPEN

  • Beginning with the 2022-23 season, doors will now open 60 minutes prior to tip. The ticket office will also open 60 minutes prior to tip on game days outside of Gate 1.

BAG POLICY

  • Similar to other venues on Vanderbilt’s campus, Memorial Gymnasium will institute a full clear bag policy. Fans will not be permitted into the venue with bags that are prohibited. To read more, click here.  

CONCESSIONS

  • Fan favorite concessions return from last season. Offerings include Slim and Husky’s Pizza, Kernels Popcorn, a refillable soft drink option, and more! Refillable soft drink cups are only valid on the day of the purchase. 
  • As a reminder, Vanderbilt transitioned to cashless concessions last season in an effort to minimize touch points. The concession stands accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. 
  • For students, Commodore Card will now be accepted at the concession stand closest to the student section at Gate 10. Students will be able to use dining dollars to purchase concessions at home basketball games.
  • In addition to game day fare, suite holders will have access to order unique local offerings for their guests (i.e., McAlister’s, Salsarita, Hattie B’s, Central BBQ and Grain and Berry).

RENAMED ENTRANCES REMINDER

As a reminder, to help with wayfinding and consistency across athletic venues, gate numbers were applied to entrances of Memorial Gymnasium last season. Each gate has a numerical affiliation. Below is a reminder of the previous gate names and what they have been transitioned to.

  • South East Entrance → Gate 1
  • East South Entrance → Gate 2 (Admiral’s Room)
  • East End Entrance → Gate 3
  • North East Entrance → Gate 4
  • North North East Entrance → Gate 5
  • Kensington Garage → Gate 6
  • North West Entrance → Gate 7
  • North North West Entrance → Gate 8
  • West Lobby Entrance → Gate 9
  • Vanderbilt Student Entrance → Gate 10
  • Television Compound and ADA Accessible → Gate 11

Men’s Basketball Gates

  • Gates 1, 3, 6, 9, 10 (student), and 11 (ADA access) will be open for entry at men’s basketball games. Additional gates may be opened for select games on a need basis.
  • Medical Bag Check Locations: For patrons who need to bring in a medical bag, medical bag check will be located at gates 1, 6, and 11. It is recommended patrons with a medical bag enter Memorial gymnasium at one of those three available gates.

Women’s Basketball Gates

  • Gates 1, 6, 9, and 11 (ADA access) will be open for entry at women’s basketball games. Additional gates may be opened for select games on a need basis.

PARKING INFORMATION

  • Fans who will be accessing Kensington Garage will need to enter via 25th Ave. due to road closures.
  • For men’s basketball single-game parking is available for purchase in the 25th Avenue Garage. Parking passes for the garage can be purchased in advance for a discounted price. Non-conference games: $5 in advance | $10 day of. SEC games: $10 in advance | $15 day of. Fans can purchase men’s basketball single-game parking here.
  • For women’s basketball, free parking is available in the 25th Ave. garage after 5 p.m. on weekday game days – with the exception of the Nov. 15 game vs. Tarleton State at 11 a.m. Free parking before 5 p.m. is available on floors 8-11 in the 25th Ave. garage two hours prior to the start of the game.

TECHNOLOGY

New Mobile App

  • Vanderbilt Athletics switched mobile app providers at the beginning of the academic year. If you have not already done so, fans should update their previous Vanderbilt Athletics mobile app to view the new experience—live stats, push notifications, game updates and more.

 


CONSTRUCTION UPDATES

  • Progress on Vandy United facility projects is under way, and will continue to increase throughout the basketball season. Please abide by signage and avoid construction areas on game days. 
  • As Vanderbilt Athletics continues to make progress, we will continue to notify fans of their impact on game days.  Fans can stay up to date on the most recent information by checking their “Know Before You Go” emails they will receive prior to each game as well as checking social media pages for men’s and women’s basketball.   • Patrons needing to access the Kensington Garage on game days will need to do so via 25th Ave. Due to construction and road closures, Kensington Garage is not accessible via Natchez Trace.

TICKETS

  • Men’s and women’s basketball tickets for the 2022-23 basketball season are on sale now! Season tickets, mini-plan, single-game, and group tickets are available for purchase.

DIGITAL TICKETING

  • As a reminder, Vanderbilt Athletics utilizes digital ticketing and digital parking passes, and is on a new ticketing system from previous years.
  • Fans can access both their tickets and parking passes from their phones and are encouraged to download prior to arriving at Memorial Gymnasium. 
  • Once downloaded, cell phone service or wifi are no longer required. If you need help activating your account please email ticket.office@vanderbilt.edu
  • All tickets must be accessed from your phone. Tickets will not show up if you are logged into your computer. If you want to transfer or resell your tickets you can do that from your computer.

STUDENT TICKETING 

  • All Vanderbilt students receive FREE tickets to all regular season home men’s and women’s basketball games. Those tickets have been delivered to their ticketing account. 
  • Students must first activate their accounts in order to access their tickets. 
  • Once the account is activated students will be able to access their tickets from their phones. 
  • As with general fans, students are encouraged to download their ticket to their mobile wallet in advance of game day.  All students are encouraged to enter the game at Gate 10.

TICKET DONATIONS

  • Fans will have the opportunity to donate any of their unused tickets to local organizations and families. Unused tickets may be donated in advance of the game to Vet Tix, serving Veterans and their families.

GAME DAY ENHANCEMENTS

NEW SEATING IN SECTIONS F & L

  • During the offseason, we replaced and upgraded all seats in sections F and L of Memorial Gymnasium. 
  • The new seats are now padded and include cup holders, which are available in every row except in the first row of seating. 

NEW COURT

  • During the offseason, a new court was installed in Memorial constructed with the latest advancements to protect student-athletes.

NEW LED BOARD LOOK

  • In an effort to improve the fan experience at Memorial, additional game statistics will be displayed on the corner LED boards.

STARTING LINE-UPS

  • During Vanderbilt starting line-ups, fans are encouraged to turn on their cell phone flashlights and wave them in order to enhance the experience.

KID’S CLUB TICKETS

  • Members of Mr. C’s Kids Club gain free entry to every women’s basketball game this season, in addition to all December men’s basketball games as well as the Ole Miss game. 
  • Be sure to join Mr. C’s Kids Club to take advantage of this offer and be in Memorial all season long.

VANDYVILLE

  • For select home games this season, Vandyville will be coming to Memorial Gymnasium! Vandyville will be located in the practice gym at Memorial and feature free activities for all ages. Stay tuned as dates for Vandyville are finalized.
