NASHVILLE, Tenn. — After a four-match road trip, No. 13 Vanderbilt men’s tennis returns home for a Friday doubleheader against No. 18 Auburn and Xavier at the Lummis Family Tennis Center.
The Commodores look to rebound after falling 4-3 to Ole Miss on Sunday. That begins with No. 18 Auburn (13-2, 3-1 SEC), marking the first time in 18 days Vanderbilt has competed at home. The Tigers come into Friday’s matchup on a three-match win streak, which was capped off with a 4-0 rout of rival Alabama. They lead the all-time series with the Dores 36-23; Vanderbilt’s most recent victory came in head coach Scott Brown’s opening season, a 4-3 win in 2024.
Two Tigers are represented in the most recent ITA singles rankings. Amirkhamza Nasridinov leads Auburn at No. 33, followed by Billy Blaydes who sits at No. 61. Nasridinov owns 21 total singles wins across the 2025-26 season, going 6-2 in dual match play at the No. 1 spot. Blaydes is also listed in the doubles rankings, ranked No. 25 with his brother, Freddy, as Auburn’s lone ranked doubles pair. The duo has produced an 8-3 record together at the No. 1 position.
Xavier (5-8, 1-1 Big East) is set to follow. The Musketeers will also be competing in a doubleheader on Friday, as they first face Tennessee State at 10 a.m. It will be the first-ever meeting between Xavier and Vanderbilt. The two schools share one common opponent, Northwestern, who Xavier lost to 4-0 on Feb. 1. The Commodores went into Evanston and downed the Wildcats 6-1 on Jan. 17.
No. 13 Vanderbilt and No. 18 Auburn are set to begin at 1 p.m., with first serve between the Dores and Xavier expected at 6 p.m. Live streaming is available online with live stats accessible via IonCourt.
