Franklin to join ESPN as guest analyst for BCS National Championship

Vanderbilt football coach James Franklin will serve as a guest analyst for ESPN for its coverage of the BCS National Championship on Jan. 6.

Franklin will join the College GameDay crew on location in Pasadena, Calif., to discuss the national championship game between Florida State and Auburn. Franklin will make appearances on SportsCenter and College Football Live. Franklin will join Alabama’s Nick Saban as one of two coaches who will add to analysis from hosts Chris Fowler, Rece Davis, John Saunders and Joe Tessitore.

Under Franklin, the Commodores have reached three bowls for the first time in school history. Vanderbilt (8-4) will be vying for its second straight nine-win season when it plays Houston (8-4) in the BBVA Compass Bowl on Jan. 4 in Birmingham, Ala. Before the 2012 campaign, the Commodores hadn’t won a school-record nine games since 1915.
