Franklin at Fisher Softball Game
James Franklin joined an array of former and current Tennessee Titans and other Nashville sports celebrities for the Jeff Fisher & Friends Charity Softball Game Saturday night at Greer Stadium.
Vanderbilt’s coach contributed a two-run RBI hit and an impressive catch as a member of Fisher’s winning squad. Apparently, there’s a unspoken word surrounding the annual softball outing – Fisher’s teams will win.
Franklin used the pregame activities more for personal introductions than practice. He spent time with Fisher and numerous NFL players, including former Commodore lineman Jovan Haye, Eddie George, Kerry Collins, Derrick Mason, Marc Mariani, Michael Roos and Cortland Finnegan among others. Others participating were Predators associate head coach Brent Peterson, Preds announcer Pete Weber and contemporary Christian artist Michael W. Smith.
The softball game at Greer Stadium, which drew about 5,000 spectators, benefited the Wounded Warrior’s Project, the Nashville Children’s Alliance and Mercy Ministries among others.
