NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer continues to rack up postseason honors after have four student-athletes named United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American, the most in program history and the most by any university this year.
Sara Wojdelko, Hannah McLaughlin and Sydney Watts earned first team, while Courtney Jones earned second team honors.
It marks the 11th time Vanderbilt has made the list, an elite list that includes Abi Brighton, Raegan Kelley, Simone Charley, Kacy Scarpa, Molly Kinsella, Christy Barringer and Stacey Ashworth.
Wojdelko, the SEC Goalkeeper of the Year and USC All-American Second-Team, started 23 matches for the Dores this year, earning over 2000 minutes in goal. The graduate from Northville, Mich., posted a career-best 58 saves on the season to bring her career total to 147 which is ninth all-time in Vandy’s record books. Wojo tallied 11 clean sheets on the year, third most in a single season in program history and finished with 22 for her career which is also third. A team captain this season, allowed only 13 goals, boasting a .57 goals-against average, fifth-best in a single season.
McLaughlin, who was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, USC All-American First Team and USC All-Region First Team, started in all 24 contests for the Commodores in a season that saw the program’s first-ever Elite Eight appearance. Out of Cummings, Georgia, McLaughlin anchored a defense that registered 14 shutouts, the most since the program record was set at 15 in 2005. The Dores’ defense allowed just 14 goals, the least amount since 2013. McLaughlin was named All-SEC First Team and College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.
Watts, who was named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, USC All-American First Team and USC All-Region First Team, started all 24 matches for the black and gold and registered over 2,500 minutes of action. The junior led the SEC in goals, finishing with 16 for the year and dishing three assists for a career-best 35 points. Out of Lenexa, Kansas, Watts’ 16 goals are tied for the second-most goals in a single season in the program, while 35 points are tied for sixth. The 2025 SEC Forward of the Year led the conference in points, goals, goals per game and shots. Named All-SEC First Team, Watts earned SEC Player of the Week honors twice and was selected to TopDrawer’s Midseason Top 100 Players.
Jones, USC All-Region First Team, All-SEC First Team and SEC Tournament MVP, started in all 23 matches and registered over 2000 minutes on the pitch. Jones saw career-bests in every category, including goals (seven), assists (five), points (19) and game-winners (two). The Orlando, Florida, native controlled a Vanderbilt midfield that scored 49 goals which is tied for the sixth most in program history and the most since 1998.
