Four Conference Honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The American Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners Monday with Vanderbilt earning four nods. Jaime Biskup was named Attack of Week, Kemper Robinson was selected Midfielder of the Week and Bailey Lower received Freshman of the Week honors while Nancy Halleron was placed on the the league’s honorable mention list.

Biskup was the leading scorer among all American Athletic Conference players last week as she had nine goals and four assists for 13 points in two wins. She scored five goals with an assist in a 20-13 victory against Rider and added four goals with three assists in a 15-14 win at Charlotte. The graduate student figured in three goals (2g, 1a) as part of the Commodores’ decisive 5-0 run in the third and fourth quarters to key the win in Charlotte. Out of Manorville, New York, Biskup leads Vanderbilt and ranks fourth in the conference in scoring at 3.8 points per game (29g, 13a).

Robinson scored six goals with an assist, adding six ground balls and six draw controls in the Dores’ 2-0 week. She had a game-high five goals on five shots to go with three ground balls and four draw controls and two caused turnovers in the win against Rider and followed with a goal, three assists, two draw controls and two caused turnovers in the victory at Charlotte, Vandy’s first conference win of the year.

Lower scored five goals with a ground ball and seven draw controls in Vanderbilt’s 2-0 week. She scored her first career hat trick with three goals and two draw controls against Rider, while she added two goals with five draw controls at Charlotte. Lower’s second goal against the 49ers, with 9:45 left in the fourth quarter, stood up as the game-winner as the Commodores overcame a 12-9 second-half deficit.

Halleron posted back-to-back hat tricks during the week, scoring seven goals off 11 shots to help lift Vandy in both contests.
