Fornia Named Attack Player of the Week

Two Commodores with weekly honors

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Gabby Fornia and Paige Gunning each earned recognition from the American Athletic Conference on Monday after their performances in Vanderbilt’s 18-13 win over Liberty on Saturday.

Fornia was named the AAC Attack Player of the Week after eight points in the win. She totaled six assists with a pair of goals to lead the Dores past the Flames.

Fornia was recently named the preseason AAC Attack Player of the Year.

Gunning tallied 13 saves against Liberty to earn a spot on the weekly AAC Honor Roll. Gunning led all of NCAA Division I in saves last season.

Vanderbilt hosts No. 12 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex. Admission is free and the game is available to watch live on YouTube.
