March 8, 2018
Dear Commodore fans,
Thank you for your support of Vanderbilt Athletics. As you prepare to renew your season tickets, we would like to make you aware of a change to our priority seating program.
Previously, the athletic department required a minimum donation through the National Commodore Club (NCC) for the opportunity to purchase season tickets in select areas of the stadium. In the past, a portion of the NCC contribution tied to the right to purchase these tickets was tax-deductible and used to support scholarships and programs for our 350 student-athletes. As of January 1, 2018, new tax laws were passed that no longer allow tax deductions on donations specifically tied to the right to purchase tickets for seating. We are still examining the ramifications of this change, but our goal is to provide you with the same access to select seating areas and parking availability. The required NCC donation you paid before will now be a non-deductible “premium fee” (and the amount will be the same). For your convenience, the season ticket prices and the overall general ordering process have not changed.
We have included a list of Frequently Asked Questions to help you better understand the change. If you are interested in tax-deductible contributions, we encourage you to continue to support our student-athletes through the NCC, however we encourage you to consult your tax advisor if you have specific questions about your financial contributions.
Finally, with the renewal of your season tickets you may be eligible to purchase tickets to all of the road games, pending availability. This year, in addition, to road games versus Georgia, Kentucky, Arkansas and Missouri, the Commodores will take on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in South Bend. A limited number of tickets are still available, and 2018 season ticket holders will receive priority seating, so don’t miss your chance to see a game in one of college football’s most iconic locations.
We sincerely appreciate your support of Vanderbilt Athletics and our student-athletes. If you have questions regarding the Vanderbilt season ticket renewal process, please do not hesitate to contact the ticket office at 615-322-GOLD (4653).
We look forward to seeing you in Vanderbilt Stadium this fall.
