Football Season Ticket Prices Announced 3/7/2006 Nashville, Tenn. – The price for Vanderbilt’s 2006 football season tickets that includes on-campus games against Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina and neighboring Tennessee State will range from $80-140, university officials announced today. After witnessing the second highest average home attendance in five years during the 2005 campaign, Commodore officials decided to keep the season ticket price at the similar levels to 2004 — the last time Vanderbilt also hosted Tennessee on campus. In a brochure mailed to Commodore season ticket holders Tuesday, Vanderbilt officials also released single-game prices, which include $50 for the Tennessee game, $40 for other Southeastern Conference contests, $20 for Tennessee State and $10 for a midseason encounter with Kent State. Tickets to the Tennessee game were $55 in 2004. Traditional Vanderbilt sideline season tickets will go for $140 each, with season tickets for two endzone sections selling for $80 each. The Family Plan endzone package, featuring two adult and two youth tickets, is $220. Faculty/staff and youth prices are $70 each. Vanderbilt’s $80 endzone season ticket is believed to be the least expensive in the SEC. “We hope this pricing structure helps to build off the momentum of last season when we enjoyed near-capacity crowds at four games,” Vanderbilt athletic marketing director Eric Nichols said. “Fans that came last year really seemed to enjoy themselves with our pregame activities such as Vandyville and liked how Bobby Johnson’s team played and how much effort and desire his team displayed.” The Commodores, coming off a 5-6 campaign that witnessed three victories in the SEC for the first time since 1991 and a 28-24 season-ending triumph at Tennessee, will open the 2006 season with a pair of tough road games — at Michigan on Sept. 2 and at Alabama on Sept. 9 — before playing their first game in Vanderbilt Stadium against SEC Western Division foe Arkansas on Sept. 16. The Commodores also host neighboring Tennessee State on Sept. 23, Kent State on Sept. 30, South Carolina for homecoming on Oct. 21, Florida on Nov. 4, and Tennessee on Nov. 18. The prices for single game tickets are: Arkansas, $40; Tennessee State, $20; Kent State, $10; South Carolina for homecoming, $40; Florida, $40; and Tennessee, $50. Vanderbilt officials are hoping Commodore fans and followers of SEC football in Middle Tennessee take full advantage of the season ticket discount prices before individual tickets go on sale this summer. “The best deal is definitely the season ticket. It’s shaping up to be an outstanding home schedule,” Nichols said. “Not only is Tennessee coming into Vanderbilt Stadium, but so is South Carolina coached by Steve Spurrier, and the Florida Gators. It’s also Arkansas’ first visit to Nashville in 10 years. The non-conference highlight is our first-ever game with Tennessee State, which is a very exciting game for college football fans in this area.
