NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Alex Duckenfield’s college career might be over, but the accolades continue to roll in.

The recent Vanderbilt graduate and senior captain was named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association’s All-West/Midwest Region Second Team on Monday. Duckenfield, who was one of 16 players tabbed to the second team, earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors two weeks ago.

A 5-foot-8 defender from Rutledge, Pa., Duckenfield had an outstanding senior season. She led the team with 27 caused turnovers and was second with 29 ground balls. She was also named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week in April.

Over the last three years, she started 47 games, missing only three due to injury or illness. For her career, she collected 84 ground balls and caused 57 turnovers.

Her recognition marks the 38th time a Commodore has earned IWLCA All-Region honors. Since 2000, Vanderbilt has placed a player on either the first or second team every year.
