NORFOLK, Va. – Anna Taraboletti scored four goals to lead Vanderbilt to a 17-2 victory over Old Dominion in its conference opener Saturday afternoon at the L.R. Hill Sports Complex.
Vanderbilt (5-5, 1-0 American) dominated from the opening draw, scoring eight goals in the first quarter behind six different scorers while Shea Panzik tallied a hat trick of assists.
Bailey Lower and Molly Krestinski each added three goals, while Hayden Miller and Brooke Baker scored twice. Grace Hasselbeck tallied her first career goal, and freshman Gabby Putman recorded a career-high 13 draw controls.
Vanderbilt’s defense limited Old Dominion to 13 shots and forced nine turnovers. Taraboletti led the effort with three caused turnovers, while Baker added two. Emme Martin made seven saves in goal.
Vanderbilt closes its three-game road swing Wednesday at Louisville. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. CT.
