PHILADELPHIA – Brooke Mazzei scored four goals to lead Temple to a 10-4 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday afternoon at Howarth Field.
Vanderbilt (8-7, 3-1 American) fell behind early as Temple (10-4, 1-3 American) scored the game’s first four goals and carried a 5-2 lead into halftime. The Owls extended their advantage with three goals in the third quarter to take control.
Molly Krestinski led the Commodores with two goals, while Gabby Putman and Logan Risenhoover each added a goal. Brooke Baker recorded Vanderbilt’s lone assist.
Mazzei’s four goals paced Temple, while Sarah Gowman added three and Amelia Wright chipped in two goals and an assist.
The Commodores tallied eight draw controls, led by Putman’s six. Putman now holds the single-season record in the category at 87 wins on the circle so far this season. Emme Martin made 13 saves in goal.
Vanderbilt continues its road swing at James Madison next Saturday. Opening draw is set for 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
