NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Vanderbilt football team has learned its schedule for the 2025 season. The Southeastern Conference released the full slate of dates Wednesday night.
SEC Coach of the Year Clark Lea and the Commodores will open the season Aug. 30, hosting Charleston Southern at FirstBank Stadium. They then hit the road for a pair of tests at Virginia Tech (Sept. 6) and South Carolina (Sept. 13).
Vandy returns home for back-to-back nonconference games against Georgia State on Sept. 20 and Utah State on Sept. 27.
As the calendar turns to October, SEC play resumes with a trip to Alabama on Oct. 4 before the first open date on Oct. 11. Back-to-back home games with LSU (Oct. 18) and Missouri (Oct. 25) round out the season’s middle month.
November opens with Vanderbilt’s first trip to Austin, Texas, since 1903 to face the Longhorns (the teams met six times in Dallas during the 1920s). Auburn returns to FirstBank Stadium on Nov. 8 before the second idle weekend on Nov. 15. The regular season will conclude with a pair of rivalry games when Kentucky visits Nashville on Nov. 22 and the Dores travel to Tennessee on Nov. 29.
The Commodores will face seven opponents that have reached the postseason in 2024, including a pair of College Football Playoff teams in Texas and Tennessee. Virginia Tech, South Carolina, Alabama, LSU and Missouri all are joining Vandy in bowl games this year.
Lea’s squad looks to finish the 2024 campaign with a victory on Dec. 27 against Georgia Tech in the Birmingham Bowl (2:30 p.m. on ESPN). Ticket and travel information is now available.
