KILLEN, Ala. – The Vanderbilt men’s golf team will send a trio of individuals to play in the MartinFed Invitational this week. The two-day tournament will run from Oct. 16-17 at the Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club.
Tournament Format
The MartinFed Invitational, hosted by North Alabama, is a two-day, 54-hole tournament played at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club. Teams will play 36 holes on Monday and conclude the tournament with an 18-hole round on Tuesday.
Course Information
Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club, located in Killen, Alabama, is a 7,133-yard course that plays as a par 72.
The Field
A total of 11 teams will be in attendance at the MartinFed Invitational. Along with host school North Alabama, participating teams are Alabama A&M, Auburn, Lindenwood, Purdue-Fort Wayne, Rollins, Samford, Southeastern Louisiana, Troy, and Western Illinois. Vanderbilt and Alabama will both have individual golfers playing in the tournament.
Vanderbilt’s Individuals
The Commodores will send sophomores John Broderick and Ben Loomis and freshman Chase Nevins to the MartinFed Invitational.

Each day of the MartinFed Invitational will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.

Trio of Commodores in the Top 15 of the PGA Tour U. Rankings
Vanderbilt is well-represented in the latest PGA Tour University rankings, as the Commodores have a total of three golfers ranked inside the top 15.
Graduate student William Moll currently has the highest PGA Tour U. rankings, as the graduate student is currently third. Moll has collected one win and has posted six top-10 finishes over the last two years.
Fellow graduate student Matthew Riedel’s strong performance this fall has placed him inside the top 10 of the PGA Tour U. rankings. Riedel came in at No. 6 in the latest rankings. Senior Cole Sherwood moved up 16 spots in the most recent PGA Tour U. rankings, as he slid up to No. 11 overall.
