After winning the Nike Collegiate Invitational and finishing runner-up at the Tavistock Collegiate, the Commodores have moved to number one in the latest Golfstat.com rankings for the first time in program history.
Vanderbilt joins three other Commodore teams in reaching number one during the regular season. The women’s basketball team was number one in 1993, the Commodore baseball team has been ranked number one in four different seasons (2007, 2011, 2013, and 2015), and the women’s bowling team, who was at the top of the polls at various times in 2008 and 2009.
The Commodores will put their number one ranking on the line October 31-November 2 when they take on three of the top collegiate teams in golf at the East Lake Cup in Atlanta, Ga.
