Dores in Dallas

The Vanderbilt football team participated in 2024 SEC Media Days on Monday in Dallas

DALLAS — The Vanderbilt football team took part in the opening day of the 2024 SEC Media Days in Dallas on Monday.

Head coach Clark Lea, senior safety CJ Taylor, senior offensive lineman Gunnar Hansen and junior linebacker Langston Patterson represented the Commodores on Monday afternoon as they had a chance to talk football with the assembled national and regional media.

The group traveled to Dallas on Sunday and gathered at a Black and Gold Club reception with Vanderbilt alumni and former student-athletes in the Metroplex. On Monday, the four ran through the media gauntlet meeting with writers, local TV stations and ESPN/SEC Network personalities throughout the afternoon.

Lea talked with the media about a range of topics, including his process for offseason changes. Those moves resulted in Lea taking over as defensive coordinator, the hiring of director of football strength and conditioning Robert Stiner, offensive coordinator Tim Beck and chief consultant to the head coach Jerry Kill.

The release of EA Sports’ College Football 25 game was a hot topic among the players, with Hansen explaining his plans to play the game to SEC Network’s Alyssa Lang.

Vanderbilt opens fall camp with its first practice on July 31. The season opens a month later when Virginia Tech visits FirstBank Stadium on Aug. 31 (11 a.m. on ESPN). Ticket information is available here.
