GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Vanderbilt lacrosse fell to eighth-ranked Florida Saturday afternoon, with a final score of 22-6.
Florida opened the game with two quick goals, but a Paige Finneran goal brought the Dores within one. The Gators then went on a 6-0 run, leading 8-1 at the end of the first quarter.
The Commodores opened the second quarter on back-to-back goals from Nancy Halleron and Kayla Rieu. Vandy trailed 14-4 at the break.
Finneran and Halleron connected for their second goals on the day in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
Vanderbilt will close out the 2023 regular season hosting Temple and have a special pregame ceremony to recognize eight seniors at noon on Saturday. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
