The fifth-ranked Commodores continue their fall season against one of the nation’s top collegiate fields this Monday and Tuesday at the inaugural Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas, home to the PGA Tour’s Crowne Plaza Invitational. Fifty-four holes will be played at the famous layout, with 36 holes being played Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

The Commodores are coming off of a runner-up finish at the DICK’s Collegiate Challenge Cup and an all-square match with stroke-play champion Georgia Tech at the Golf Club of Tennessee.

Vanderbilt Participants
The Commodores will send seniors Hunter Stewart and Ben Fogler, juniors Zack Jaworski and Carson Jacobs, and freshman Theo Humphrey.

“Our focus has been on each player improving individually so we can be a little more consistent as a team,” said Limbaugh. “The guys have done a really good job with that. We need to be excited and enthusiastic about this opportunity.”

Colonial Set-Up
Colonial Country Club will be set up as a par-70, 7,204-yard format for this week’s tournament.

Commodores playing one of nation’s top fall schedules
Golfweek has Vanderbilt’s schedule ranked fifth in the country through two events, and it is easy to see why. Coupled with the seven ranked opponents it will face this weekend, the Commodores have played against a total of 12 of the top 30 teams in the nation. If Vanderbilt’s next tournament, the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational October 19-21 is included, the number of top 30 teams jumps to 18.
