FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Vanderbilt swimming team dropped its final regular season meet of the season, falling at Arkansas, 220-57. The Commodores conclude the regular season with a dual meet record of 2-7.
The lone Vanderbilt win of the day came from Chrissy Oberg, who took the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 1:29.08.
Oberg also had a second place finish in the 100 yard backstroke, posting a time of 56.99 that was just .24 seconds behind the winner.
Laura Dillon, in her final dual meet as a Commodore, finished third in the 100 yard breaststroke. She posted a time of 1:06.76. Dillon later finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke with a mark of 2:22.42.
The 100 yard freestyle saw Caroline Thomas finish third with a mark of 52.52.
Vanderbilt capped the meet with a second place finish in the 200 yard freestyle relay. The group of Lauren Torres, Melissa Roberts, Betsy Galenti and Thomas posted a mark of 1:39.06, just over a second behind the winning relay team from Arkansas.
The Commodores will conclude their season at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships February 15-18 in Knoxville, Tenn. The annual event will be hosted by the University of Tennessee at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
