CLEMSON, S.C. – Brooke Goldstein led all scorers with five goals while Alexa Spallina dished five assists as No. 12/9 Clemson topped Vanderbilt 20-5 in the season opener on Saturday afternoon at the Clemson Lacrosse Complex.
Nancy Halleron led Vanderbilt (0-1) with two goals off of five shots while sophomore Shea Panzik dished two assists in the game. Freshman Hayden Miller scored her first career goal and registered her first career assist, while Brooke Baker and Molly Krestinski also scored for Vandy.

Junior captain Alex Gladding picked up three ground balls and caused three turnovers while freshman Gabby Putman won four draw controls. Bailey Lower also added three draws. In goal, Emme Martin made five stops while Caelan Jones had two saves.
No. 12/9 Clemson (1-0) had nine scorers, led by Goldstein, while Mikaela Mooney and Aubrie Eisfeld each added hat tricks. Emma Penczek finished with two goals off four shots and caused a game-high five turnovers and five draw controls.
Vanderbilt returns to Music City for its home opener on Thursday, hosting Mercer. Opening draw is set for noon and can be seen on ESPN+.
