NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Jamahri Harvey scored 13 points and Crosby James added 11 Tuesday to lead Presbyterian to a 68-62 men’s basketball victory over Vanderbilt in the season-opener for both teams at Memorial Gymnasium.
James scored all of his points in a just over two-minute stretch midway through the second half to break open a contest that was tied 38-38 with 11 and a half minutes remaining. Kaleb Scott also scored 10 points for the Blue Hose, who shot 51 percent from the floor and held a 36-18 scoring advantage in the paint.
Ezra Manjon scored all 19 of his points in the second half, while Evan Taylor scored nine points and Tasos Kamateros recorded eight. Carter Lang chipped in with seven points and a game-high 11 rebounds in his collegiate debut.
The Commodores outrebounded Presbyterian, 41-33, and were credited with 12 steals as a team.
