NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Maddie Baker led Coastal Carolina to a 10-8 win over Vanderbilt lacrosse on Wednesday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.
Baker scored three goals for the Chanticleers, who improve to 9-4 on the season after earning their sixth straight win. Coastal Carolina won the draw 16 times, eight of which came from Sydney Tornetta. Sydney McClure and Monica Manley each found the back of the cage twice while Brigid Cardillo dished a team-high three assists and had one goal.
Vanderbilt (7-6) was led by Brooke Baker, who registered her fourth hat trick of the season after finishing with three goals and one assist. One of Baker’s goals came off a free position, marking three consecutive games scoring on an attempt. Overall, Baker is 13-of-17 off free positions this season, leading the conference and ranking seventh in the country in the category.
Cate Bradley and Kemper Robinson each added two goals for Vandy while Logan Risenhoover scored one. Ella Smith dished a season- and career-high-tying three assists, marking at least one assist in six of her last seven games.
The Dores return to American Athletic Conference play when they host East Carolina on Saturday. The matchup will start at noon and air on ESPN+.
