NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt soccer tallied a scoreless draw against Kansas on Thursday night at the Vanderbilt Soccer Complex. Keeper Sara Wojdelko tallied the fourth shutout of the season, the eighth of her career.
After a scoreless first half, Vanderbilt outshot the Jayhawks 4-3 after the opening 45 minutes of the match with just one on-goal shot from Rachel Deresky. Kansas also had just one shot on goal from Jocelyn Herrema but Wojdelko was able to save it.
In the second half, the Jayhawks put up 10 shots on Vandy but couldn’t connect including a shot from above the 18-yard box by Emily Tobin that hit the right post.
The Commodores also had a good look from Rachel Deresky but Kansas’ keeper Sophie Dawe made the stop. Dawe had three saves in the match.
Vandy returns to action on Sunday night at 6 p.m. hosting Middle Tennessee for senior night. The matchup will be shown on SEC Network+.
