Molly Finlay led with a game-high six points

CINCINNATI – Vanderbilt lacrosse matched its highest goal total of the season Wednesday afternoon, defeating Xavier, 19-6, at Corcoran Field in Cincinnati.

Vanderbilt (6-3, 0-1) took down the second BIG EAST opponent of year, powered by Molly Finlay. She scored five goals, three of which came in the first half, and dished an assist for six points. This marked Finlay’s second five-goal game this season.  Sammy Nuchow tied her career high with five assists.

Cate Bradley registered her first hat trick of the year and had one assist. Brooke Baker, Ella Smith, Molly Krestinski and Logan Risenhoover each had two goals in the game. Haley Gochnauer posted her first goal of the season.

Vandy scored 14 unanswered goals to open the game before Samantha Balara scored her lone goal of the day to help Xavier (3-5) get on the board in the third quarter.  Lola Mancuso and Julia Frombach led the Musketeers with two goals each. Greer Simonton also had one goal.

The Dores return to action on Saturday, March 30 hosting conference rival Florida. The 11th-ranked Gators will be the second ranked opponent for Vandy this season. Opening draw in Nashville is slated for noon and will be shown on ESPN+.
