NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Shea Panzik recorded her second straight hat trick to lift Vanderbilt to an 11-8 victory over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday afternoon at the Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex.
Vanderbilt (3-3) was anchored by a defensive effort that forced 16 turnovers, its most since 2020 and tied for the fifth-most in program history. Chloe Bethea-Jones caused three turnovers to lead the Commodores. Vandy had eight different scorers, including freshman Gianna Frieri, who netted her first career goal.

Junior Avery Morton added a goal and an assist, while freshman Gabby Putman matched her career high with nine draw controls.
Eastern Michigan (5-3) had four scorers led by Mackenzie Blackwell who registered a hat trick while Emerson Henry and Emma Reichert added two each. In cage, goalie Maddy Porter posted 21 saves in the contest.
Vanderbilt travels to face Ohio State on Saturday. Opening draw is set for 10 a.m. CT.
