NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Vanderbilt lacrosse team wraps up non-conference play on the road Tuesday afternoon, taking on Boston University. With opening draw at 12:30 pm CT, action will take place on Nickerson Field. The game will be aired live for free on the Patriot League Network.

Vanderbilt heads north with a 4-4 record, and comes off a close 12-11 loss to the 19th-ranked Johns Hopkins Blue Jays. Having experienced last weekend’s near perfect weather, the Dores will be back in chilly conditions in tomorrow’s afternoon game.

Redshirt junior, Kelly Chandler, leads the squad with 22 goals. Jill Doherty leads the black and gold in points and assists at 24 and 12 respectively.

Against the Blue Jays, the Commodores fielded several strong offensive attacks, giving a season-high eight student-athletes profitable scoring opportunities. Senior Mallory Schonk earned her fourth hat trick on the year in the contest last Wednesday, going three for three in free position attempts. Vandy only missed one free position shot in the entire contest.

VU had some trouble on the draw, as JHU’s main offensive threat entered the game ranked 12th in the country. However, after changing personnel, the Commodores rivaled the Blue Jays going 8-7 in the second half.

Callahan Kent is the only goalie to see minutes this season and remains a strong last stand of defense for the `Dores. Callahan has 86 saves this season and a .494 save percentage.

The Terriers, who own a 3-4 record, look to work off of Saturday’s 17-7 victory over Bucknell. Boston averages 12.3 goals per game, shooting 70% of the time on goal.

Senior Ally Adams is the team’s points leader with 19 so far this season, totaling 10 goals and nine assists. Jill Horka leads the team in draw controls with 28 so far. Two Boston goalies have logged minutes in the cage, with Christine Laible leading the duo with five starts under her belt.

In their last meeting, the Commodores defended home turf with a 16-9 victory over the Terriers. The victory gave VU the 5-4 series lead. However in Boston, both teams are tied with two victories apiece.
